Keller Williams adds recreation with Red Day
Thanks to all Keller Williams volunteers for helping Clear Path for Veterans create a beautiful picnic area and regulation horseshoe pit on Red Day. Veterans and their families can now picnic on our beautiful grounds and engage in a game of "shoes". Keller Williams donated picnic tables, grills, outdoor games and an entire day to a spring cleanup, supported by the Suburban Garden Club. Thanks to everyone who made it happen and please stop by and enjoy all the recreational opportunities Clear Path has to offer. Don't forget the 3 miles of beautiful trails available to our visitors! Appleseed Productions Presents - Cry Havoc
The classic WWII drama by Allan Kenward will be presented by Appleseed Productions May 3- May 18, 2013. Clear Path for Veterans will work in partnership with Appleseed to spread the news on this wonderful story of nurses on Bataan. This classic drama was first produced on Broadway in 1942, under the title "Proof Through the Night". Performances will be held with an 8:00pm curtain call on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as a 2:00pm matinee on Sunday, May 12. Tickets are $12-$18. FedCap - Job Readiness SRC arena April 30, May 14 and May 28
FedCap and Easter Seals launched it's first Connect2Careers event in the Syracuse area on April 16, 2013 at Clear Path for Veterans. The event was a great success and another event of its kind will be offered at the SRC arena on Apil 30, May 14 and May 28th. FedCap is a non profit with 78 years of experience in workforce development grounded in analysis. Fed Cap and Easter Seals are committed to helping veterans succeed and businesses attain the highest level workforce. Syracuse Stage Bue Star Theatres offers discount to military
Syracuse Stage is offering discount and complimentary tickets to US military personnel, US military veterans and their immediate family memebers to select performances for remaining shows in the current season. This effort is supported by a generous grant from the CNY Community Foundation. Complimentary tickets are available for the matinee performance of Good People on Saturday, April 27. The Trauma Resiliency Model Level 1
On April 26, 5:30pm - 9:30pm & April 27, 8:30am-5:30pm the TRM Level 1 will be taught at the Center for Spiritual Care, SUNY Upstate using a simple set of skills that people can use, with support, to become aware of their own multi-sensory experience of traumatic experiences. Elaine Miller-Karas, LCSW is the director and cofounder of the Trauma Resource Institute.

Thanks to the Salt City Dart League and the Polish American Club for helping raise $2,630.00 for our Dogs2Vets program. Generous donations such as this, enable us to provide important services to our veterans and their families. Our Dogs2Vets program has successfully graduated two vet/dog teams with several others acheiving their Good Canine Citizens certification. Thanks again to all who participated in this successful event.
Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES support Dogs2Vets
Thanks to the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES alternative education and culinary art program for sponsoring a spaghetti dinner and fundraiser for our Dogs2vets program. Dinner will be held January 18, 2013 at 1879 Genesee St. in Auburn, NY. Doors open at 3:30pm and close at 7:00pm. Students and Senior Citizens $5 at the door, kids under 10 $3.50. All adults $6 at the door and take out is available.
Cayuga-County BOCES Campus hosts
Sponsored by Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES alternative education classes and culinary arts students will host a spaghetti dinner to benefit Dogs2Vets. Weekly Wellness Gathering
Begining January 5, 2013 Clear Path will be offering their Wellness Gatherings every Saturday from 9:30am-2:00pm. Each week, veterans and their families will be offered a variety of alternaive health options and support services. Auricular acupunture, Reike, Massage Therapy and Polarity Therapy are some of the many services available. Combat Vet Talking Circles and family/friend and spouse support circles take place from 10:00am-12:00pm. All participants receive a free lunch and an opporunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of our facility. No appointment necessary for those participating in the support programs. All others, please email us at info@clearpath.com to schedule an appointment. Free child care is available for those wishing to bring their families. Clear Path for Veterans offers other non clinical programs all funded through private sponsorship and donations.

VVA Chapter 103 and the VVA Foundation Support Clear Path
Thanks to the generous donations from the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and the local Chapter #103, Clear Path will be purchasing a much needed new stove. As we begin to outfit our kitchen, we will be offering a Wednesday Cafe coming this January. This will be a wonderful opportunity for veterans to come for lunch, comraderie and services. Veterans and their families will have access to The Veteran, Military and Family Support Circle resource list as a "one stop" list for useful and available services and opportunities. Those who visit our facility can enjoy our walking trails and other outdoor activities. Thank you VVA and to those who helped make this happen. The Hearth on James will host it's second annual "Festival of Wreaths" December 13, 4:00pm-6:00pm. Businesses wishing to participate in the event should pick up a wreath between November 12 and November 16 from 8:00am-8:00pm. Bidding will take place on December 13 and prizes will be awarded to Most Creative, Most Holiday Spirits and Best Themed Wreath. Please support this wonderful effort.

Saturday, November 17th Syracuse Marine Parents will be preparing care packages for the troops. Items for care packages should be dropped off at the Simon Parise VFW. An updated list of suggested items is available via email.
Syracuse Crunch Supports Clear Path
On November 10, 2012 the Syracuse Crunch will be hosting the Rochester Americans for an exciting game at the War Memeorial. In honor of our veterans, the Syracuse Crunch is offering discounted tickets to those interested in showing their support for Clear Path. The "Crunch" has designated 50 seats to those wishing to support Clear Path and is offering tickets at a presale rate of just $17 per ticket. A portion of the proceeds is donated back to Clear Path so please, let's support our local hockey team and the veterans who serve!

Mini-Retreat: Dr. Edward Tick and Kate Dahlstedt of Soldier’s Heart
Join us for our open public seminar 7-9pm October 25 and mini-retreat October 26 featuring Dr. Edward Tick and Kate Dahlstedt of Soldier’s Heart, a program for addressing the emotional, moral, and spiritual wounds of veterans. Dr. Edward Tick is an expert in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other combat related conditions. He has lectured and trained staff at West Point, Walter Reed Medical Center, Fort Hood, Fort Knox, Altus Air Force Base, and other Department of Defense facilities. Dr. Tick is a 2012 U.S. Army trainer for Chaplain Sustainment Training in PTSD and the author of the acclaimed book, War and the Soul.

American Legion Post 858 Fundraiser and Raffle
Thanks to Sherry Kaderli, Post Commander of the American Legion Post 858 located in Cleveland, NY for raising $4,303.61 for Clear Path. Sherry's hardwork and dedication to serving veterans was shown this weekend when she rallied the town of Cleveland to participate in the day's events. American Legion Post 858 Fundraiser and Raffle
Thanks to Sherry Kaderli and the American Legion Post 858 for holding a benfit for Clear Path. Please join them as they raffle off great items including a 2-4 hour fishing expedition on Oneida Lake. Other great items include a child playhouse and a print of the beautiful painting that hangs in our lodge. Adirondack artist Rhea Costello's picture depicts the beautiful view from the Clear Path lodge.

Spend MLK Day in the great outdoors with Clear Path. Instructors from EMS will conduct snowshoeing and cross country skiing lessons for beginners while those who are more advanced can walk our trail system on snowshoes or foot. Dogs2Vets program director Dr. Steve Kinne will perform a dog sled pulling demonstration and food will be available for purchase.

Battle Buddy Center Now Open!
The Battle Buddy Center is a vet-to-vet support program open to all veterans. On September 19, 2011, Clear Path for Veterans hosted a press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of our new facility. Guest speakers included Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle, Chittenango Mayor Ronny Goeler, Helen Marrone, and Mike Haynie of Syracuse University's Institute for Veterans and Military Families. Inspiring speeches were followed by a ribbon cutting, tours of the facility, and a luncheon.

Dogs2Vets Program Debuts New Training Facility at Eagle Ridge
The lower level of the Eagle Ridge Lodge has been transformed into a training area for veterans and their dogs. The main training room is a large open space that can accommodate indoor agility training and is equipped with rubber flooring for comfort and injury prevention. A secondary training room will be set up to simulate common public access environments such as stores to provide critical public access training. There is also a grooming and bathing room to teach veterans how to properly care for their dogs.
Renovations Nearing Completion at Eagle Ridge Lodge
The former Skyridge Family Recreation Center building is being converted to the Clear Path for Veterans headquarters. Changes include new roof, new windows, new geothermal heating system, ADA-compliant entrance, reconfiguration and completely new finishes on main floor, and state-of-the-art dog training facility in the basement. First stage renovations are expected to be complete in Summer 2011.
